The University of Oradea, through the Faculty of History, International Relations, Political Sciences and Communication Sciences and the Department of Political Science and Communication Sciences, is hosting on 9–10 October 2026, together with the University of Bucharest (Faculty of Journalism and Communication Studies) and Moldova State University (Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences), the 11th edition of the international conference “Mass-media în postcomunism: moștenire, evoluție, tendințe” (Mass Media in Post-Communism: Legacy, Evolution, Trends). This year’s theme is “Jurnalism și limbaje: actori, practici, reconfigurări” (Journalism and Languages: Actors, Practices, Reconfigurations).
More than 50 papers, grouped in six sections — three on site in Oradea and three online — bring together researchers and media professionals from Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Hungary. The topics range from the language of political polarisation and artificial intelligence in newsrooms to disinformation and crisis communication, the local press and the changes brought by social media.
